Hi Everyone, I'm looking for webmaster's portfolio for my website, I offer multiple services and one of them is web design. I will target local Vancouver BC. Canada communities. Thing is that I'm no pro at web designing and although I can do some basic Joomla and HTML I can't really do some serious professional design. As I have read in a lot of posts, what matters a lot is the portfolio, witch I don't have... But I should be able to get some clients because my other services are related. Actually I already have a translation company in Toronto that is drafting the proposal for a full fledged data base driven site, this could possibly be the first contract: "Hi Bruno, Actually, I think I need a database that's not web-based, that actually sits on my hard drive. I travel a lot, and even though there are more and more places where I can access the web, it's very important that I have access to this information NO MATTER WHAT. In the future, I would like to do certain web-based things: have my subcontractors upload their invoices on the website (I'm not sure whether you've ever worked with Transperfect: they have a marvellous system, where project managers enter the project number and the total, and the translators upload their invoices, and if the project number or total aren't exactly the same as the project managers had entered, the site rejects the invoice.); give my clients more control to upload and download their materials, the way it's set up on your site; etc. etc. etc. But the first step is creating our own internal database that nobody would have access to but us, and that we would be able to access regardless of the internet connection. Is this something you can build, or do you work primarily with web-based programs? Do you know of any freeware that would be good for this purpose? As I said, I would rather take freeware and then hire somebody to customize the hell out of it. I'm still struggling to put this thing down on paper, but hopefully within the next week I'll have some sort of flowchart. At that point I will just hand this thing over to my partner, who is an IT professional and can speak with designers and programmers in their language, which will probably be much better than me trying to explain something with absolutely no idea of how it would actually work!" You can send me a private message and if you want to work with me you can upload some gif portfolio files on the site or whatever is the best way. My site is at anonsolutions.com Thanks Bruno
