Products Listing in Joomla

I'm creating a site in Joomla and I would like to create a dynamic PHP page with a product listing. It's not an e-commerce site so no need for shopping cart, etc.

Normally without a CMS I would create a PHP page with a SQL statement which would fetch all the data from the database and display on the page. I would administer the product data directly in the database.

However I need everything to be handled in Joomla so that my client is able to add/modify/delete products themselves from a front-end interface. I would have used phpmyadmin but that would too complex for my client - it needs to be very simple...

The product listing page would just need to be a table showing 15-20 products, with "next" and previous" page buttons if required. Clicking on a product opens up it's own page with full details. Each product will also have images associated with it.

Can all this be done in Joomla, or is there any other front-end interface I can use to administer the product data?

    Yes that can be done..
But it will take you a month or so to code it first..
It can be done with RS FORMS PRO or CHRONOFORMS also..

Yeh I had a go at that but it seems overly complex...
The site I'm creating is actually for an estate agency, hence the reason I don't need e-commerce functionality.
The virtuemart app is really designed for e-commerce - I would need fields for the data associated with houses, e.g type of house, number of bedrooms, gas central heating, driveway... etc...
I can then create a form where the users can search for houses based on any of these criteria.

    Hi Omzy,

I think you should be able to achieve what you described with a combination of ChronoForms and ChronoConnectivity.

Chronoforms was magic because it could create the table for me from the form fields. If you get stuck come back to me for more info.

I have a similar solution where I need to list products for a tree farm. So no price, just product list with a link to the individual product that has full information and associated pictures.

    thanks,
    Keith

You can use Mighty Resources CCK component. Content Construction Kit components like this one allow to create different types of content within one component. No need to install bundle of them.
