Product Reviews Scripts / CMS

I'm trying to find what the latest opportunities are out there for a product review script?

I currently use http://www.reviewpost.com on one of my sites (http://www.brassreview.com/reviews/), and am trying to figure out what other options I have for a similar site I'm developing. Reviewpost is a great script - but hasn't been updated for a long time now...

    I have looked at

    Censura.info
    RandomMouse

They all talk very professional, but very slow/ or no progress moving any chnages to their scripts in years...

I have recently seen ProductWiki, which is awesome!!!

What are my other options out there? Looking for a standalone (not a Joomla plugin), that allows users to post reviews on products...

    Any advice out there?

    Thanks -

A new version of the Five Star Review Script was just released today. Check it out: www.review-script.com

    Hope that helps.

Actually ProductWiki looks pretty cool, anyone knows what script it uses? IS it free script or custom coded?

I'm eagerly awaiting the latest release of ReviewPost. The developer is starting work on a BETA right now, so I'm staying tuned on this...

Let me know if you find a solution in the meantime...

Looks to me like Productwiki is a wiki site and not wiki software.

So far, the only review/rating script that I've looked at that I like is In-Portal. A bit pricey so I am taking my time to review it. However, it has a nice modular architecuture and a reasonable user interface for a ratings/review site. It has a modest CMS capability.

Some enhancements that I would need before I purchase:

    1) A support forum
    2) Most popular/visited, most reviewed sites
    3) Tabs to find the most popular, most reviewed and highest rated within categories and for entire site. Ability to sort.
    4) More professional looking basic template including sidebar blocks as well as main content page blocks for most popular, highest rated, and most reviewed
    5) Advanced spam protection - e.g. Bad Behavior plugin, Spam-free plugin, ip/cookie control for multiple ratings within a given time frame.

I hope to see these enhancements in future versions.

    Hi Rich,

    Thanks for your feedback.

We are a team dedicated to continued development of our product. Since this release, we are including free updates of any additions or patches for a year. As you have realised, there are so many possible features to incorporate into the package and we look to develop all suggestions from our clients into future version updates.

In specific response to your points:

    1) We offer free support via a ticketing system.

    2) Most popular/reviewed topics are ranked on the home page in the form of a tag cloud. We look to advance this feature within the coming update.

    3) Again, coming soon.

    4) Not entirely sure what you mean here, but this feature would come along with 3).

    5) This is already an important part of the package.

We use two unintrusive spambot shields. One in the form of a browser invisible field, which if completed (automatically by spambots) denies submission. The second is a minimum time block, spambots submit forms in a second. These together have been incredibly successful in all our versions and no installation to our knowledge has ever suffered automated spam.

I hope this information helps you, and others, when considering High 5.

    Thanks for the additional info.

    1) I think a forum is important element both for pre- and after sales networking with other customers and developers. I hope you are able to provide one with your product, since I am interested in the purchasing it.

    2) A cloud is good, but it cannot be sorted, nor does it display the full sites themselves.

    4) By (4), I mean I would like to display in the main content area, not only the most recently rated posts, but also blocks for the most highly rated, as well as the most commented. This is a nice feature for new visitors who want to see the most populalar posts on the homepage.

    5) Thanks for the additional info. For several reason, I have found Bad Behavior and Spam Free invaluable plugins to block bots for reasons beyond spamming. I think it would be a nice addon feature.

Thanks for the additional info. Good luck with your product!

I run a simple review site at http://www.reviewmirchi.com , this runs on wordpress and users do not need to login to review. Pretty good an tooooo simple.

Wordpress has good options, the only thing missing is the Comparision tables.
