Hello, do you think that it worths the effort (money & time for link building) to rank high for product names in G search? I have read about an earth4energy site that it was ranking at top5 and it was getting 1 sale/day.
If it's a product that is not popular/low gravity, that's it's not worth it. If it's a product that is a established brand, gets searched alot, than I'd say it's worth it
Agree with Ripped. For example, if you could rank for "forex killer" on #1 spot, then you would probably get few sales a day, because currently it's being searched 40 times a day on Google. There are some other good brand keywords, but the competition is waaaaaay too much.
Definitely. I made a sale after grabbing the #1 spot for earth4energy on a brand new domain. I'm #2 now, under the official earth4energy site. Let's see if the sales will keep coming in. I'd recommend going for high gravity products with about under say 100,000 competition in Google? You can also use the Google keyword tool. Even if a product doesn't have a really high gravity, there's still a chance the product name gets searched quite frequently, because yeah... alot of the high gravity products are only a few months old anyway. I'm sure alot of the older products would be searched quite frequently too, just have to use the keyword tool. It's not hard to be honest. Just use http://www.backlinkwatch.com to check the backlinks on the top 10 sites, and just submit/comment to the same directories/blogs/forums/social bookmarking sites, etc. as the top 5-10 sites have done. You can even join a forum with your username being the product name and just set your homepage (which usually shows on your profile page) as your websites URL. Your profile page is bound to get indexed, and who knows, your profile might even rank in the top 10, LOL. This works out pretty well because you don't even need to post or become apart of the forum. If you don't have time, you can pay $10-$15 for a social bookmarking service, which will usually have your site submitted to 100+ social bookmarking sites. I've also found that just having a link in your DP signature gives you alotttttt of backlinks aswell. Anyways, best of luck man.
From my experience, it's only if the product is "hot". I rank in the top 10, usually top 3 for a lot of product names, but if they're not hot you won't make anything. Also, the hotter it is, the harder it is to rank.
I rank in the top 10 for forex brotherhood. It doesn't get me many hits right now, although I've had one sale from it so far.
Holy crap! AHAHAH I was wondering why Earth4Energy.com suddenly went from position #6 or #7 to #1 and beat me. It might've been my signature (backlinks from all the posts/threads I've made?), lol, who knows. But thanks a bunch for pointing that out! Fixed.
I think it depends on the product popularity, current demand, and earnings / sale. Earth4energy is %100 worth ranking top 10!
i think it is good to rank high for product name searches ... it will always be easiest for "rising" or new products though ... it can get quite competitive though ... so while it's worth putting some effort into ranking number 1, it should be part of a whole campaign (articles, ppc, wateva) and not your only campaign tactic
Even if the product is new, targeting product's names will be good after some time when it gets more popular.
Your site isn't there anymore... I am noticing alot of new sites pop up for a day or two and then dissappear.
It was within 24 hours of the launch. People were obviously getting emailed about it and did some searching before buying. I was #1 so managed to get the sale.
I can confirm that it is true top 5 in google means 1 + sales / day. Even for the luxurous and expensive products sells well when you are top 5 in google . I used to work in a company like that you have mentioned . Therefore I am sure.
