Product Images - How did they do this? I need a lesson!

    Hi Guys,

I take some pictures for a small menswear website and the pictures are awful!

Anyway, I got an email from a image enhancement company (is that what their called) saying they could improve my images I sent them a couple and they came back better, but what tools did they use to do this? We can't afford to pay per image to get the images processed but willing to pay a modest amount for training.

Here is the initial image I took of the product:

Then is the image when I have used the 'Magic Wand' tool in Photoshop and used Paint to not show my slippers. You can see the edges of the t-shirt are rough especially at the top.

Then this is the image the image enhancement company did, when I asked them how they did it, they said they traced around the image. You can see the image does not have the rough edges like in my photo above and also the print on the front is better quality.

So how did they do it?

    What tools did they use?

Can you do better than them?

If so I'm happy to pay someone to show me how to do the images properly.

    Let me know??

    Thanks,

    D

    The links are working.

I would use Photoshop and the pen tool rather than the magic wand (or Paint) however, I don't really have time to do it personally. It's not a difficult job though for someone that knows their way around Photoshop a little. Look for a pen tool tutorial online then practice a little, thats basically how I learned to do it. To make the image sharper , there are image adjustments that can also be done in photoshop easily.

As queenb said, use the Photoshop pen tool.
Watch some YouTube clips, and you'll have it mastered in half an hour.
If you don't have Photoshop*, you can use GIMP to do pretty much the same thing:
