Product Idea - Your Opinion Needed

I'm hoping you can share your opinion on this with me!

I am currently writing a short report about using "Answer Marketing" (Yahoo Answer type sites) for marketing Clickbank products.

I use this method as part of my overall strategy, and I estimate that it alone generates me several hundred dollars per week.

Through the course of trial and error, I have discovered somethings that must be done to make this form of marketing effective. I have also uncovered some sites that can work SIGNIFICANTLY better than Yahoo! I am compiling these strategies and secrets to form this report.

So here is my idea as to what the product will include:
    - Answer Marketing Report (Approx. 10 Pages)
    - 30 Days of Support via email
    - If you choose, I will post or answer one optimized question pertaining to your product. This will be first come, first served.

    My question to you:
    1) Would you purchase such a product?
    2) At what price?
    3) If you are in the internet marketing / make money niche, would you promote this to your list / customers even if the product price was small?

Thanks for your help in laying the foundation to my first product launch!

    Jim

I think it will make a nice report.

I don't think that it would make a full product. It would make a great WSO.

to make it a full product you would need to have more. You could go in the direction of having several "different" marketing tactics. Stuff like yahoo answers, yahoo groups and more.

Everyone knows about blogs, articles, squidoo, hub pages, etc.

However, not many people really know how to use the sub level ideas effectively. (including me)

    Good luck with your project.

    Thanks.

I was thinking WSO originally, or a $7 type product, but I figured the support and "1 answer free" deal would add some value.

EDIT: I got to thinking about your advice, and it has given me a perhaps better idea. I may go the route of launching a product called "Traffic Tactics" and discuss some of these (3 or 4) alternative ways of getting traffic.

Jim - I love this form of marketing - pm me when you get a product ready. I'd love to buy it.

Make it a full product. Just pad it out with fluff so you have at least 40 pages.

90% of IM products are bullshit. 10% are good because they contain 1 or 2 gems of stuff you didn't already know that will give you a new edge. So your 40 page report only needs those few gems.

The 30 day support and single answer I think don't bother with them.

Make it a full price product and offer it for half e.g. 40/20 as a WSO. Not only will that make you some early money but it also means that all the IM dickheads will know your product and push it as an affiliate to their lists when you do a real product launch a week after the WSO closes.

    Venrooy,

    Thanks and will do!

    Rolf,

Good idea on the WSO! I may try to make it a full product, but if I go that route, I won't do fluff. My opinion is that there are so many IM products, you have to offer a good value. I would rather sell a cheaper product, that is nothing but solid strategy and have tons of happy customers, then a padded product that customers feel luke-warm on. I want to be able to sell them again in the future. Thanks for your input, and I do agree that a full product is the way to go!

I don't think it would be too hard to make a complete product with this subject alone. I use "answer marketing" all of the time, and it's potential is huge. Especially if you're promoting the right products on the right sites. I'm extremely curious to see your angle on this.

And by the way - don't get too preoccupied with trying to make your product bigger. I'd spend more money for a 10 page report, that gets right to the point and makes me money, than I would for a 40 page report full of fluff. By now most marketers know BS when they step in it. If you can make a smart comprehensive report that works, then you'll have repeat customers for life.

Go with the simpler, less fleshed out product, get feedback from users and improve it over time. Trying an initial launch with a gold plated product is basically "burning daylight". Also, you mentioned you want purchasers to buy from you again. I doubt that you have anything else to offer if your first product isn't ready at this time so once again, sell the simpler product to get some learnings for improvement.

Two cents from someone with 6 CB products.

    Good luck!

sounds like a good idea. i would make it a WSO too to begin with. then create something bigger from that as a real CB product.

I have a script that searches yahoo answers that lets you comment and answer in bulk. i am sure you can get something similar developed quite cheaply. if you include something like that as an up sell then it would be quite attractive.

Yes, I think doing a wso style campaign makes sense... I have never bought a wso I didn't like. And I have repeat purchased from the same pubs before.

I understand you are very, very good at this style of marketing and I would be curious to see the goods myself.

    Cheers

Sounds like an interesting product. Looking forward to reading it when you make it available.

Hopefully without running the risk of sounding dumb - whats a WSO?

WSO = Warrior Special Offer (section of the Warrior Forum) ....you could throw a package of mp3 up and do a WSO, this means that you sell them at a price below what the public would get them for. I was just over there and someone is selling some type of sexual addiction MP3 over there so you could probably throw something together while there's in interest but you do have to have at least 30 posts before you make a WSO.

I really like this idea. And there are some great suggestions in this thread. I would definitely buy this and offer this to my list (let me know when you have an affiliate offer on this).

If it were me I would make it a full small priced product with an upsell ... I like the automatic script suggested by mill123.

Thanks for all the suggestions once again guys. I am well under way on this! I want to make it affordable, simply to get my name and "brand" out there. Mill123, I love the upsell idea. Everyone else, thanks for the ideas and compliments.

Right now, I'm thinking $10 WSO, limited to 50 copies. From there, $19.95 with some sort of JV affiliate scheme, possibly on a deal by deal basis. I have "considered" bundling this with a "craigslist secret" that I use to still get some great traffic from there. A lot of people think that method is dead, and while it isn't my favorite method, it still drives traffic. I have a site right now getting about 30 visits/day from a CL post!

Well, I'm about 70% complete on the basic report. I may add some bonuses as well before I start marketing it. I'm HOPING to have a review copy or two ready early next week, and will pick some people from this thread to get a copy. PLEASE do not PM me at this point asking for one -- I will post when I'm at that point.

I agree with most of the posts, that it would be a nice report or a $7 type product and an upsell ( hate those however) These days it needs a very high quality of product to get attention
