Product Creation Journal -- Creating a New Clickbank Product -- Follow Along

    Hello all,

Just wanted to see if anyone would like to follow my progress in creating a new product to make available on clickbank. This thread will follow my progress from beginning to it being approved by clickbank.

Hopefully, this will also inspire others to actually do something too, and not just read forums about advice.

Here are the details of the new product(without giving it away of course):

Niche: Weight Loss -- yes, a highly competitve niche I know, but affiliates make all the difference with sales. Plus, if you have a product that is unique and/or more appealing than others, it will sell.

Concept: The product will consist of multiple modules which offer several different proven approaches to weight loss. All are 100% natural and involve no pills or empty promises. You only lose weight when you have the correct attitude and actually try to lose weight -- doing nothing will yield no results. These produts will be 100% unique and written by myself.

Sales Page -- sales page not constructed yet, but will be constructed after product completion. Domain name as well as the product name have already been registered.

Price point -- Still up in the air on this one, however I am leaning towards $37 or $47, offering a 70% commission. Split testing will be done. More than likely, it will be priced at $47, with an exit offer of $37.

Bonus products -- Looking at a variety of bonuses and finalizing them now, but this product will have a considerable bonus package representing a great value.

Upsells -- The product will have at least 1 or 2 upsells, with a possible last minute downsell.

Generous Affiliate Page -- no optin will be needed. Banners, PPC ads and keywords, loads of free PLR articles, product reviews, and possibly landing page templates.

Kickoff Contest -- at product launch, an affiliate sales contest will be announced to get affiliates on board.

    =================================

Progress thus far: Module 1 is almost completed and should be finished today or tomorrow -- it will end up being a 70 page eBook. 40 pages are already written -- after completion it will then be compiled as a PDF.

Thanks for your interest in advance, any comments or questions are welcomes and encouraged.

I'll be watching this closely too. I'm about a week or two away from launching my own ebook through ClickBank, and I could use all the advice I can get.

As you said, weight loss is an extremely competitive niche. It will be interesting to see what long tail keyword you will come up with, to enter this market. Success and nothing less!!!

dlm you're always so fun :D

I'm doing the same, launching a product soon. Not to hijack though. If you keep up the journal I'll be following intently.

Sounds like a good plan! It will be interesting to see how this goes, dealing with Clickbank myself has actually been pretty easy going so far.

I also like the fact that your not worried about all the comp, just go for it right:D

Hello, Just to let you know adding a product to the clickbank marketplace does not guarantee you will get affiliates. You have to work to get them usually.

Module 1 is now complete -- Module 2 is being written now.

My prediction held true, and module 1 is fully complete with 70 pages . . . module two looks like it will be about 50 pages.

Will be starting on the sales page/product site shortly

Ok, halfway through module #2 in the program.

I've completed a draft of the sales page which seems to be pretty good -- always going over it and finding something to do better.

All of the bonuses have been finalized, so along with the weight loss system, you will also get 7 related bonus items free -- the price point is $47.

Should be finishing module 2 this weekend -- Module 3 is something I had previously compiled, so no work needs to be done there.

Middle of next week I will start the final editing and formatting phase, getting it ready to submit to clickbank.

Also constructing the affiliate page, Thank You, TOS/Privacy Policy, Articles Page, and Contact Us to comply with Adwords and Clickbank policies

This is not taking as long as I thought, but we're still about 45% away from actual submission.

The product is now complete, now all I need to do is format and edit everything -- zip it up -- finalize the website and submit to clickbank.

The product thus far is(without giving it totally away):

A rapid weight loss strategy consisting of

3 Modules -- 3 ebooks containing explicit strategies on how to lose weight fast, how to prepare your mind and body for it, etc.

7 Related Bonus Items -- Added eBooks and special reports to aid with the weight loss strategies.

Price Point of $47 with 75% commission

Making an exit popup offer for $37 as we speak -- the popup comes up b4 they click the X

After all is completed, this should be submitted by the middle of next week for approval

LOL. Could you write a more unrealistic opening to your sales copy?

It might be unrealistic, but it probably rings true with some readers. Half the sales battle is convincing the reader that you understand their problems and you know how to solve then. Identify with them and you're one step closer. Of course, it could be done a little more subtly than this :)

Well the product is finished, proofread, and finalized and will be submitted to clickbank for approval this Thursday or Friday.

Still updating the affiliate section etc.

The product is currently in testing mode, live only through paypal at this time, so no affiliates during test mode as of yet.

12 articles have been submitted to Ezine Articles waiting for approval; 12 more will be submitted tomorrow.

Will be rewording and submitting to other article directories for fast branding and ranking.

1 Video has been uploaded to youtube, but not promoted as of yet -- more videos will be added to drive traffic to the website.
