I was looking around at a few websites to get some marketing ideas to increase sales, and while doing so i found this, http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1355762&Sku=A179-3000

If you see on tigers prodcut page there it says "compare this deal" and it shows best buy's price. So since i no my products are at much better prices then most other companys I decided to do the same with most of my products. The only difference that mine would have then tigers is that mine would have a link staright to that competitors website's product page so customers dont' just have to take my word for it. I did this because most people are lazy and its making it easier for them. I'm doing this in hopes it will increase sales. Heres the first product i did this with on my site : http://www.splaytech.com/RCAWirelessSpeakers.htm

Well my question is since i'm linking to some of my competitors product pages, do you think its a good idea, since i'm giving them a "vote" according to google? Also do you think this would increase sales since it will save people time shopping around? Any other idea's or comments on this before i add this to all of my products?

You can add a rel="no follow" to the href tag which tells google you are not vouching for the web site and they will not gain any benefit from your links.

I think the concept is great for products such as the one you used as an example - $130 is a huge difference. But if the price difference is small, you may lose that customer to a competitor if they are more well known and implicitely trusted.
