Procrastination can be a killer on sales

This is a very obvious point, but one that I believe needs to be mentioned as a reminder for those of us doing it (I'm guilty!).

What can you do to help your online business that you haven't done yet? What are a few things that might only take a few minutes or a few hours that could greatly increase your profits, but you just haven't bothered with yet?

Perhaps you haven't taken action on a new website or idea you have? Or perhaps you just haven't updated a few outdated things on your site?

Personally, I've been so caught up with one of my projects that I've left out some easy marketing that only requires an hour or two of my time but could triple my exposure for one of my sites for the next while.

I've also been putting off other things as well. These won't take me forever to do, but I just haven't focused enough time on sitting down and doing them.

Sometimes I need to remind myself just to sit down and get to it! I can see immediate results quite often, but for some reason I still need the reminder.

I think this is very important to any business. I hope I've encouraged a few of you to get up and do those little (or big) things that you haven't done yet.

    Brian,

Great post. I absolutely know the feeling. Sometimes I'll just sit here thinking about my list of "to-do's" that is 2 pages long, but will take no action. I'll get too caught up in posting or reading forums that I just don't get the actual WORK done. Good reminder thread!

My problem is just the opposit. I have 5 to-do lists right in front of me,
and actually work on every point until it's done so I have no night with
more than 5 hours sleep since 3 weeks. But I love it. Doing is my thing.
I feel bored without it. But yes, Procrastination is bad for you. Get rid of it.
Kick it out. let it go. It sucks. Bad. No-good mojo. No hum. No buzz. The End.

My way to fight procastination is to create both short term plan and a long term plan. For daily activities, you need to do rank those which can help your business while eliminating the rest. One good way to stay focus is to ask yourself question. Like by reading this email do I actually waste my time or it can improve my business knowledge. ;p

Here's one article that *really* helped me in this matter: http://www.stevepavlina.com/articles/overcoming-procrastination.htm

This guy seems very knowledgeable and overall gives some very nice tips .

PS: don't forget to check other articles from that guy if you are interested in personal development :p. ( what he did is what I call really good viral marketing :)) ).

I sit and write a to do list at the end of every day. This means i can go through
the list in the morning and get more done in less time. Without the list, I tend
to wander around the net just wasting time, and that's no good! :)

Yep procrastination is a kiss of death. I normally put stickies all over my room to remind me of what to do. Not 100% efficient but works quite well IMO

My friend actually created a program so he could remind himself of stuff throughout the day. It's almost kind of funny that he had to do that...
