Problems with wordpress

I have installed the latest version of wordpress on one of my sites but when I try to make a new page it comes up with an error saying I cannot edit the page it then goes to unpublished.

It's getting quite annoying now having to make the page and then go into it and make it live, does anyone else have this problem?

This is the error I get:

 

Your new version install may be corupt.
Download a fresh new version and install it again.
Backup your database first.

 

Hmm I'll have a go at that then before to see if that fixes it.

If you know how to fix it without reinstalling it I'm all ears

 

I think you upgrade your WP to 2.5 . I saw more people have the same problem on 2.5 and WP don't have solution for that.

It's the latest version of wordpress that I am having the trouble with. This is a brand new site so it hasn't had any other version on it.

 

this kind of sounds like a permalink setting issue...what's it set at now?

 

I think it may be the problem with latest version. I had that problem few times in my blog too.

I have set it to custom - %postname% or what ever it is.

 

I remember this happened to me once, right after I published a post really quickly, before it had time to load the permalink preview, etc. How fast are you saving/publishing the posts?

 

I wouldn't say I'm saving/publishing quicker than I do with any other site

 

I am trying to find out solution for this error. Please tell me about error code if it is displayed with error message like error number "304" is for not being modified. If it is showing error number with message then It will be easy to find out what is the exact problem.

 

Ah nice one There isn't any error message other than the one I posted in the earlier thread. It just says that it cannot be edited, please try again.
