Problems with Tracker tool Misreporting Serps

Discussion in 'Keyword Tracker' started by Dreamshop, Oct 6, 2004.

I've been using the tracker tool for several months now and in the last four days I've had a consistent problem with incorrect serps reports.

I have probably 50 different keywords that are now listed as N/A, that a manual check shows they are in the same positions they've been in for many weeks. Many of these are in the #1 and 2 spots.

This has only happened over the last three or four days, and it's affecting a significant portion of my keywords, but not all of them.

Any idea what the problem is?

So you have a specific keyword/URL example that you think is being reported wrong?

most of these complaints end up being regional settings.

Yes, I have several keywords that are being reported incorrectly.

I can't imagine that it has to do with regional settings. As I mentioned above, I've been using the Tracker tool for several months with no problems. These keywords were being ranked correctly up until just a few days ago. I haven't changed anything.

The Tracker tool reported them as being dropped three days in a row. Here's an example:

    ravioli manufacturing equipment
    http://www.pastabiz.com
    1+2 0 0 0 Oct 5, 2004

    ravioli mold
    http://www.pastabiz.com
    N/A 0 -9997 -9998 Oct 6, 2004

    ravioli moulds
    http://www.pastabiz.com
    N/A 0 -9998 -9998 Oct 6, 2004

    restaurant pasta maker
    http://www.pastabiz.com
    1+2 0 0 0 Oct 5, 2004

If you do a manual search on Google you can see that PastaBiz.com ranks #2 for "ravioli mold" and #1 for "ravioli moulds". The two other keywords are tracked correctly.

I'm having this problem with a large group of keywords, BUT NOT ALL of my keywords.

I put those two (the "incorrect" ones) into my keyword tracker account, and they show as expected (#1 and #2). If you look under Edit Preferences on your account, what do you have set for the Restrict Ranking To Single Country and Restrict Ranking To Single Language settings?
