Problems with the site search engine script (other languages)

    I got the free search site tool available here into my site. It's said that it works with any language/character set. Well, my site it's in portuguese and the search engine doesn't works at all when it comes to words with characters like: á, ç, ô, ã...
    Does someone knows what's possibly going on?

    I got the same problem. My site is encoded in iso-8859-1. Google search supports both encodings, so isn't there a way to include the encoding in the search, somehow like &oe=iso-8859-1&ie=iso-8859-1 ?

    No sorry... the Google API is UTF-8 only.
