problems with super high min keyword bids

I've had several adwords campaigns, all of which i was bidding around 50cents a click with no problem. Then, after a few days probably 70% of the words became inactive and it now says the min bid is anywhere from $2-5. I tried putting the same sites on different domains but that didnt' help.

After some time i decided to make a totally new adwords account under my company name. Same thing happened, looked fine for a day and then all the minimum bids were raised.

I know some other people bidding on the same exact words and they don't have this problem so i know it's not the keywords that are the problem. My sites may be considered a little spammy - do you think google flagged these sites as spammy and made my min bids high becuase of that? Have you ever heard of that before?

    What was your ctr?

Low ctr will result in a higher required cpc.

guy is correct.. there are alot of factors on the calculated value of ctr.

One of which is landing page relevancy! How relevant is your landing page for your advert? Does the advert have the keywords your bidding on and does the landing page have those keywords?

my relevancy was pretty good for most, but the ctr was really low - like 1 or 2 out of 20,000. I've been hearing more and more that that's most likely the reason they jacked the price up on me

How come such a low ctr?

I figure 5% ctr as just about ok!!

Improving CTR is crucial. Test different copy. Put the keyword in your headline and body copy.
