Hey, so i am in grade 11 right now, and i have to pick my courses for grade 12 in February, me and my parents are having lots and lots of disputes about what i should study, i love 2 things, science and computers, science i like but i find kind of hard, computers i just LOVE, i can do lots of things even ordinary people can't do, like i can create programs, websites, code, program, install parts, design, install lots of things. My parents kind of don't mind if i learn computers but they keep telling me that i should pick science because A LOT of people are in the computer, programming business. And they said it will be hard to live off this career because there are a lot of people. so my questions are: Is it true, i want to do what i love, but i don't want to starve, can u live off of it? And also when i went to the university website, i entered and i saw lots and lots of choices, computer monitoring, computer development, computer programming, computer science, .... does what i described sound like computer science to you? Well I advice you just go with your own heart as you can only do better study if you like that stream or subjects otherwise you might not get proper results. So go with Computer since you have basic idea and you might find it easy. Try to convince your parents. PS.: Show this forum to your parents and inform them that many people making money.
you can make anything you enjoy profitable. tell your parents to shove it. you dont really have to decide anyways till junior year in college.
