Ok one of the sites i have been working on hasnt been performaing to great in Google, i just checked to see what pages were indexed and i only came up with 3, i am sure it was fully indexed in the past. It only has a PR of 2, it has a sitemap and I havent used anything dodgy to promote so i cant think why it only has 3 pages indexed.

The site is www.imperial-furniture.co.uk, google comes up with 5 backlinks, yahoo says 43, which seems to have dropped quite a bit.

Shall i just write some articles and submit to directoreis and hope they get indexed properly or could the site be penalized for something?

You don't seem to have robots.txt file

something that has worked very well for me at times is keeping the page title to under 60 characters total

    yeah I agree,
Forum siggys are a great way for spiders to find then index web pages.
If the pages are new however it may take some time for the se's to index. just hold tight and keep link building.

well thats the problem, i am sure the pages were indexed and the pages are over a year old now!
I am gonna pay someone on here to do some directory submissions so hopefully that will sort it out

I agree that you may want to consider shortening the title. I'm viewing your site in Firefox, and the title is so long that it ends with '...' Other than that, I think your site looks fine - focus on obtaining backlinks from quality, relevant sites, and you should see more of your pages indexed in the future. :)
