I've been having the same issues lately. Not sure what is up. Hopefully, McDar is so busy with paying clients hasn't had time to check on this. :D

Great! Not only is the tool up and running but it appears like the little red headed guy is well rested and well fed. He seems to be typing faster than ever.

BTW is the allinanchor search digging deeper into the rankings? I'm seeing some rankings that I didn't catch before.

Yeh it does seem to be faster. Only a few days ago it either would not work or timed out or just did nothing. Good job glad to have it back.

You may wish to clear your cache (delete temporary internet files) and try again.

I did have to rewrite some code. So, if you have pulled up a cached version, it may not work.

    Let me know.

Mcdar, your keyword tool is giving really weird results... Can you modify the tool to display the IP of the datacenter that is currently being queried?

Thanks bud, good to see all the old school names still around:)

    Hello hexed,

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I checked into this a little bit and found 8 additional/new datacenters I had NOT known about previously!

But it is 2:AM here and I am exhusted so I will search further tomorrow and add them to the tools. Will also consider your idea of reporting IP of database used in the results.

    Hi Guys,

Well I have added 6 New/Additional Datacenters to the Datacenter Quick Check tool today. :p

I just found these Datacenters on Sunday morning. I don't know if they were previously known about by others or if this is a "NEW" discovery BUT you can view them now on the tool listed above.

I will be working now to add them to the Google Datacenter Watch Tool next.

...the hard part is figuring out how best to display them.

    I will keep you updated.

as always - any input will be considered and appreciated.

Edited to add: The Google Datacenter Watch Tool has now been updated to include the "New"/additional Datacenters.

McDar, How do you "find" additional data centers - is there a way of scanning Google for them?

    randfish,

No you can't scan Google for them. If you "ping" www.google.com it will respond with the IP Address with the datacenter you are routed to.

Sunday I was seeing a position for allinanchor that was NOT represented on any of the known datacenters. That is what keyed me into the fact that Google must have at least one datacenter I did not have represented in any of my tools.

When I discovered the IP of the one, I just started pinging variations in the new IP address I found.

If you want to learn more about Datacenters and how Google works, I have written more about it in the following...

    About Google Datacenters

This morning I did a search on all of the Datacenters for one of my keyword phrases. The discrepancies between the datacenters was incredible!

The site ranged from position #32 to (believe it or not) position#684!

You can view all of the results Datacenter Quick Check results

Why should we care? Because anytime you go to www.google.com you can be routed to ANY ONE of the 32 different datacenters for your search! Big difference if the searchers will find you with discrepancies like that, huh?
