Problems With Clicksor? Report 'em!

Hey everyone. A while back I posted this thread...

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=211960&highlight=problems+with+clicksor

...about our experiences with Clicksor. A few weeks after I started posting about the experience on various forums, we reported Clicksor to the Better Business Bureau, an international business ethics oversight agency to which they belong. We requested that the BBB help us in retrieving our money, or failing that, help us get access to the information that prompted Clicksor to withhold it in the first place.

When a complaint is filed, the BBB encourages its members to respond within a month. Evidently, Clicksor didn't care--the month passed without so much as a peep from them.

Although our complaint alone wasn't enough to put Clicksor in bad standing, we did get this comment from the BBB about Clicksor's business practices: "if this become a pattern, we can then further investigate"

Given the responses we got to our story, as well as some of the posts I've seen on this forum and others, I'm guessing we're not the only ones who have had bad Clicksor experiences. Even if our case is more extreme than many, I know that a lot of people have signed up for Clicksor only to discover that it failed to deliver on its promises.

Based on what seems to be the webmaster community's prevailing opinion regarding Clicksor, should they really be allowed to display the BBB logo? Members of the BBB are supposed to act as model businesses, embodying openeness, fairness, and excellent business practices. In our experience, Clicksor completely failed to meet those goals--it consistently underdelivered on our impressions, it didn't share information (even when it witheld payment based on that information), and it didn't even respond when a complaint was issued.

Again, the BBB can't do anything based on a single complaint, but there's always strength in numbers. If you've also been screwed over by Clicksor, we encourage you to report them to the BBB by going here https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/NewComplaint.aspx?ComplaintTypeID=2&countryid=2. I'm pretty certain that our experience is just one part of a chain of similar ones--if that could be established, maybe the BBB would sit up and take notice.

Post here if you're interested in pursuing this

I encourage your efforts. However, the BBB is nothing but a shake down operation. They do nothing for the consumer, which is you in this case. They just blackmail businesses into joining by suggesting that without a BBB seal they will appear to be a shady operation. If possible find another more effective way to deal with a shady business. Good luck.

Yeah, BBB has not done much, but unfortunately $170 probably doesn't warrant a court case. It is, however, tempting just on general principle, and it's an option I might end up considering. Any advice on action to take besides going to BBB or the courts?
    Thanks
