Problems with backlinks

It seems backlinks from pinterest and flickr to my site made my traffic significantly lower although I use pinterest myself for traffic. Does anyone have any idea why backlinks done by someone from pinterest could cause problems and how to rectify this problem?

 

What do you mean "done by someone from pinterest"?
I'm also using pinterest and never had any problems.
How do you know that only those backlinks are causing the problem?

 

I know it seems strange because I use pinterest as well, but basically I bought backlinks from fiverr at some stage although I try not to do it (buying backlinks). It turned out that most of these backlinks were from pinterest and flickr, so images of my site were pinned into a board on pinterest or included on flickr - I found there also other images of unrelated websites as well. My traffic went down after that, and I'm trying to figure out how and if this could cause a problem. I also disavowed any other suspicious backlinks I had, but without any result.

 

I understand now. What you did is the worst thing you could have done... buying backlinks from fiverr. What did you expect for $5?
Anyway, I understand you, I also was tempted once to buy traffic and backlinks from fiverr. Luckily there are forums like this where you can research about almost everything related to IM.

You should contact the seller and ask him to unpin (delete) the pictures from pinterest boards and filckr. You cant change or stop those backlinks unless they are deleted.
Or try contacting the owner of the boards...

 

You wont have backlinks problem from social community websites. This is because google does not give weightage to bad backlinks from highest quality website which have high PR. Google gives too much authority to these websites therefore it does not sees anything wrong even if it finds bad link in social websites. NOTE - Pinterest has PR9 .

 

I think you have problems not because of Pinterest links. Probably you bought other links and they're not relevant to your website or they were penalized by google or it can be any other reason.

 

Thanks. My other backlinks are from sites such as disqus, foursquare and issuu and don't seem to have any ranking, but they are only one fifth of other backlinks from pinterest and flickr, so I'm not sure if this could cause problems.

 

I see, Diversion of backlinks from different platforms is not enough to rank your site these mediums are only used for reaching your targeted audience and not for backlink purposes.
