Problems with article resource boxes

I read at an article directory recently (unfortunately I can't remember which one), that hosting your own articles on the same URL that your article resource box is linked to can cause problems with Google when the article is shown on other sites also. Does anyone know anything about this

Do you mean having the article on your own site and allowing others to duplicate it?

In this instance, I think first to publish has something to do with it or it may be the one with higher PR. But only one copy of the article is returned in the results. This doesn't hurt your site to my knowledge if their copy is the one that gets returned in results and not yours.

Kind of. When I publish an article, I publish on my site first, then at article directories. The content is then copied from those directories to other peoples sites. All the articles have links backed to the site I originally published on. Wish I could remember where I read it.

If in addition, you waited till your article was indexed, and only then submitted to article directories, then I think you would be fine. As with most things search engine, this too is a theory.

Whenever I write articles, I don't post them to my site...I try to avoid dup content at all costs...I want G to know that my site is unique, not duplicated.

This is where you are going wrong...Google loves Fresh new content on a website updated often. And what better way to invite google than to add lotta fresh articles to your site.

But always remember first publish your articles on your site and wait for G to index it and cache it.. only after that should you publish it if you need to.

This way your site doesn't get duplicate panelty

Thanks, that should help. It would be annoying to be penalized for adding fresh content.

Nothing google hates more than fresh content LOL. I try to add new content to my site a few times a week; but more often than not, I like to syndicate the articles on other sites. Problem is finding article sites that 1) post new articles in a decent amount of time and 2) allow links inside articles and not just in a resource box.

I have an article directory which you are welcome to submit articles to; I really need other people to add content. Usually, articles are approved within a few days, and links within articles are allowed too (within reason). See the link in my sig.
