Problems w/ PayPal

    Hi!

To sell a PDF book, I am using a downloading service and PayPal.

To test the system, as a guest (with no Paypal A/C), I tried to buy my download -the PDF book- with two different credit cards and, then, also as a guest (with no PayPal A/C), my wife tried to buy my download with two different credit cards. All four were declined.

I called PayPal and was told the following. The way PayPal's security system works is that first-time guest users are almost always turned down. They prefer users with PayPal A/Cs.

    Obviously, this is not acceptable.

Does anyone know anything about it?

    Thank you!

    Dr. T

There is no alternative to this and to sell pdf book you have to setup Paypal as its there.

I wasn't aware of that but then I don't use PayPal except through my Clickbank Vendor account.

Although Clickbank accepts credit card payments, it also offers PayPal as an alternative payment option on its order form. If you don't mind paying $49 dollars to register your product with Clickbank and wait for weekly transfers into your account, you may like to consider that option. They take care of all payments on your behalf and the added benefit is that there's a large affiliate network that may benefit your business should one or more affiliates choose to promote your PDF.

Honestly, almost everyone that frequently purchases online has a paypal account. If you aren't wanting to setup a traditional merchant account, paypal is probably the easiest way to go starting out.

You need alternative processors like Stripe if possible.
