Problems installing Kaspersky Antivirus

    Hi all

    I have downloaded Kaspersky Antivirus free trial version and started to install it prior to which I already uninstalled AVG 8.0 and restarted the computer. But still it is showing an error saying that there is some incompatible software due to which it cannot be installed. So again I restarted my computer. But still the same problem is persisting. Is there any one who can sort this out?:confused:

    reinstall the operating system and then try :D

    Just Kill any Process that pertains to Avast from Task Manager.

    you have to go start>run>type in *regedit*>search for avast>delete all avast files>done

    I am not responsible if this causes more problems :confused:

    You gave him pretty wrong way :D , he may end up messing critical registry values. :p

    No this is the correct way. I tried using task Manager yielded no result. I this way and found two registries related to AVAST and AVG. Removed both. Installation completed smoothly. Thank you ShamsiOwnz :)
