    Hello,

    I'm having issues with my internet connection at my work place.

    Network consists of 30 PC's

    All PC's cannot view any web sites on port 80 (http://) yet are able to view sites on other ports (https://).

    The setup is as follows:

    ADSL -> Router -> Switch -> Proxy -> PC

    All PC's are running either XP Pro SP2 or Vista.

    Even if i connect directly to the router bypassing our proxy the problem still remains.

    Anyone have any ideas what could be causing it?

    Regards

    sounds like the switch needs more tunning.

    How many computers, hooked up to the same switch, can connect to https instantly?

    You may just have to reset your switch and then go over the setting for both the router and switch, the router may also need attention.

    Also check your connections at router/switch

    Maybe 80 ports is used by other application.Have you checked it so that any conflict can be avoided?
    Since you can use other ports to visit websites,the problem may be not a big problem.Tyr to cheak the
    setup of the router and the switch.

    May be your system admin has blocked Port 80 or it is used by some other program. To solve the problem use proxy servers to excess websites. If it is not solved then try to use bypassthat site to bypass proxy settings.
