Problem with VSP

My VSP keeps going down. It is hosted at hosteasier.com.

They never check or monitor my VSP. I'm making about $60 per day with my sites. If I am out of town for the weekend and it's down for 2 days (which happened last weekend), I'm out over a hundred bucks!!!

First off, is it the job of my web host to monitor my VSP, of is that my job.

No matter which, are there any tools that will notify me if it goes down?

    Thanks for your help!

A vps, just like a dedicated server is usually un-managed, which means it's totally up to you to take care of.

Did you find out why it's crashing?

I'd recommend you getting a dedicated since you earn enough to pay for a good MANAGED dedicated server.

    It'll give peace of mind.

I have a pretty good deal where I am. Is there any software or service that monitors websites?

Is there a service that can tell me if my db goes down?

Thanks for all your help! :)

Usually VPS' that crash all the time are either:
    1) Overloaded
    2) Or have an unstable kernel

Ask your host to move you to another VPS box. You can run your own mySQL checker by installing some of the free monitoring tools like Nagios.

Its probably due to an old version os kernel. Update it to latest stable version. Also, ask your host to look into the problem as well.
