I'm looking to install software (free or for a charge) that collects long tail keywords for me on a daily basis -- emailing me new ideas.

Does this exist? If so, can you point me in the right direction?

    hittail.com

you can use it for free but I think you have to pay to get stuff emailed to you.

    Thanks for the source, magda...

... However it's not exactly what I'm looking for.

I'd like to be informed when a new long tail phrase (not already in my keyword trigger list) hits my site.

For example, I want to be alerted when the keyword trigger phrase "marketing ideas" generates a visit to my site with the search query "marketing ideas +methods +strategies".

With HitTail, it only shows us the search query... not a search query that's different than the keyword trigger phrase.

    Any ideas?

Not sure if I fully get your meaning, MarketingJunkie. But the way HitTail works is this:

Keywords are ONLY ever added to your Keywords tab if it is the first time that keyword EVER led to your site from that source (since tracking began).

That turns it into a sort of Keyword radar system. If I get your meaning, you have keyword trigger words. And you're interested in everything that's NOT the trigger words.

HitTail would seem perfect, because after an initial period of "catch up", HitTail stops collecting keywords that have already led to your site, and focuses entirely on new ones.
