Problem with too many links on same page

I've noticed a problem with a lot of the places where people go to get free backlinks to their sites. This is because the pages where you put the links usually already have at least a hundred other links on the page. This applies to most web directories, blog comment pages, social bookmark sites, and article directories.

The problem is that the outgoing PR link juice is divided among all the links. So if there are a hundred other links, your link only gets 1% of the available PR. So it isn't worth much.

That is very true but even 1% is better than no%. Right?

Well, what good is PR if the page is considered a link farm from Google ?

According to webmaster tips by google a page should contain at most 100 links.

Search engines do mention that a bad link is link from a page considered a link farm. The link probably wont hurt you, but wont help you at all.

PR is nothing. I got a PR2 site that rank on first page over site with PR6-7

    agree with Camay123,
pagerank is dead, google's people already said it's not a reliable tool to check your site

Well, on article sites and social bookmarking, often you don't have 100s of outgoing links on a page!

That's why the good links are hard to come by!

If SEO was easy. . . well, my life would be easy. But it's not :)

This is true. But if you get 1% pr juice then your site get 1% pr value. It is much more valuable then no pr or pr0.

Google mentions that a link is a link. I dont really bother about how many percent link juice or whatever, as long as I have a link, and it's a dofollow back link, that will do.
