Hi, My hosting provider given me Nameservers details below given. NameServer1: ns1.congerere.com NameServer2: ns2.congerere.com But when i try to change this in my domain registry at Registerfly.com then i'm getting error "Error: [Nameserver ns1.congerere.com doesn't exists in the registry480]". When i said this to my hosting provider he replied that "It Should work, already set up several accounts with no problems." Can anyone suggest me whats going on and how i solve this problem ??
Just switched my "test" domain name's DNS to those you posted here. They went through fine. Here's what I did step by step: 1. Logged in 'til I saw my domain name on the screen. 2. Clicked on the domain name 'til it gave me options. 3. Clicked + sign beside Nameserver Management and then Configure. 4. Input the nameservers then clicked Update. Give it a shot.
maybe ns records of congerere.com has not propagated over the net... also, regfly is a known problemmatic domain registrar
Thanks for your reply Dave Zen. But the problem is stil there. I tried this so many times but everytime i'm getting same error
I guess I'm lucky then. Make sure you didn't choose Register or Update. If the error persists, log inside your account and send a detailed ticket.
No i didn't choose Register or Update. Anyway i have submitted a detailed ticket with them and waiting for their reply. BTW are you able to add this nameservers details with your registerfly domain
Yup. As in I copied those 2 nameservers you posted here, pasted them in the box requesting them, and clicked Update after. It went through smoothly. Another thought hit me: are you applying those 2 nameservers to a .com or another extension like .org?
Applying those 2 nameservers to .info domain, why are you asking this question Is there any specific problem with domain extension
That's really great. I have submitted a ticket with registerfly just 1 hour back with my problem and just got answer with solution from them. Appreciate their quick and helpful response. Reply from Registerfly My problem solve. Thanks to Dave Zan for his help.
Unfortunately, yes. It's a kind of "compatibility" issue. You'll likely get errors when using a pair of .com nameservers on a non .com domain name, same thing when applying non .com nameservers on a .com. I've seen this happen among various registrars, not just Registerfly. Anyway, good to see your issue's resolved.
