    Hello,

My sites on my server generally work, but occasionally they are showing up error:
    Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at wiihome.co.uk.

    * Check the address for typing errors such as
    ww.example.com instead of
    www.example.com

    * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.

    * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access th

It happens randomly and I thought it was my internet untill it happened to someone else. So what can cause this plz?

    Thanks

It happens to me very often while using Firefox, a browser with built-in limitations you can't get rid off.

Try accessing the site with other browser or through a proxy service such as www.secure-tunnel.com or www.webwarper.net

If problem remains and that is your server, go into SSH and review your httpd.conf file to see your site is properly pointing to your root directory.

This is due to the connection dns is unable to propagate to your ISP.
Nothing you can do here other than waiting the ISP routing return to normal state.

If your site is going down a lot, perhaps you need to get another host.

You might try using a monitoring service such as http://mon.itor.us/ A service like that will provide you with reports detailing how often and for how long your site is down.

I thought the same thing. It sounds like a host error to me. Firefox is the bomb.

Everything in this post is sillyness.

Firefox is not the culprit; I have been using it for years, as do my colleagues, and we never experience this.

If a proxy service solves it, then it's not a browser issue.

If the site is intermittently unavailable, then checking httpd.conf is surely a blind alley.

This is a DNS problem, either with the provider or with the user's ISP.

Was the person you spoke of in your first post at a different connection from yours? Different ISP or the same?

If so its obviously your host server going down. If you bought a cheap service, to save money, you have learned money isn't everything you need to consider.

From your end, at your location, you only have a couple of things to consider: Is your internet working flawlessly? Is their trouble with any other sites? New firewall, antivirus, etc?

I'm sure its your host server going down, unless you got this problem after doing some site maintenance, and messed something up. You need to look into everything, then post back with some more detail.
