Hey guys, I have had this odd problem with my Laptop for the past few days. My dad has the same problem with his current laptop. Basically, it will not open CDs or DVDs and of course will not let me burn stuff to CD. I have been able to use it for the last year or so I have had the laptop and up until about 2-3 days ago it has stopped working. Basically it does this: - Put the CD in - Sounds like it is running the CD (makes the usual noise and shows the CD icon opening on the laptop) - It then slows down and makes a deep/low beep sound - At that point it redoes all the above and fails again Any ideas at all on what this could be? My friend had this problem with his PC drive. In case I am right, your drive needs to be repaired and if still it doesn't work, the word 'repaired' needs to be 'replaced with another drive'.
