Problem with keyword research tool.

Hi,
The keyword tool that I was using has suddenly come up with a challenge for me. It has stopped giving me the "no of competing sites" for the keywords shown. Maybe it is because of some google api error.


So,what I would like to know is a free tool which could also give me number of competing sites.
I have tried seo book but it seems that the results that it shows is way off the mark. I have seen terms where seobook tool shows google results as 5600 but when I checked on google with the quotes for keywords . the real number of competing sites is like 30,000 or something like that.


So, please suggest me what sort of tool I should use.

First, tell me which keyword tool you are using. You can also prefer wordtracker and Overture. These both are good Keyword suggestion tool.

I dont know anything about wordtracker and heard the name even just today
but Overture and some sites I have used so upto now I would recommend you Overture

Wordtracker is a good toll, but the saddest part is, it becomes paid. :-(
Overture is always good but limited. Google Analyzer is also great. Here goes the link

Rushmore's tool is fine, but then again it does not have anything on 'comparative analysis.'

 

i use keywords detector - and then the software add feature to take words from google adwords - even 5000 words in minutes.

i have also keywordanalyzer but a think that its better (can find word that intitle or in url)

Do people have good or bad experiences with using the paid service of wordtracker?

 

All are using overture API. Overture is probably taken over by Yahoo. Now the only site remaining is wordtrecker.com
