HELPPPPPPPPP!!!!SOS!!!!!This whole situation is complicated. First of all, I signed a contract with local internet service 4 yrs ago, and last year when I got sick of their bad service I sent them an email cancelling my service with them, and I also sent them a letter with my last payment. I was out of country or 3 months and while I was away I used their e mail service just to see if they cancelled my account and for nothing else. When I came back I went on my email account again and it turns out that they never cancelled my service and they kept on charging me the whole time. LOGIC: if somebody doesnt pay for 3 months arent they suppose to disconnect them??REALITY: I guess they wanted more money from me. When I came back I called them and they said that they never received neither my e mail nor my letter, they claim they never received my last payment, which would be the first time in last 4 yrs. Strange. So, I pulled up a copy of the email I sent them cancelling my service n the copy of the money order that they supposevely never received and I faxed it to them. And the guy/the owner didnt even call me to say he recived it. So I called him 2 weeks later, and he said oh, okay, we;ll cancel your service as of today. And now he is scaring me that I have to pay ove $200. I am a fricking student, i dont have that money , n plus i dont think it's fair because I didnt use their dial up service, and I've been using another inernet provider for 8 months now. I checked their terms of service and it says if you dont cancel your account your contract is renewed automatically. NOT FAIR. And it also says if you would like to cancel your account send an electronic mail and state your name and your user name, which I did, but they claim they never received it.
I am kinda afraid that he;ll sue me cuz i am not really familiar with internet/nevada laws, so what should I do? I honestly appriciate any advices you guys have for me. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE HELPPPPPP  :(

Call him again, and if you keep stuff in your sent folder, forward a copy of the original e-mail to him. If it is all true then stick to your guns and let him know how dissappointed you are that they can't even recieve e-mail on their own e-mail server and if that is how bad their server is than why would anyone want to use them!
