Hi friends I have a host gator account and I've installed Word press. Now the problem is that whenever I try to upload a theme, there is some or the other problem cropping up. Today when I tried to install a theme it gave the following error: Incompatible archive PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature What do you think the error could be? When I contacted hostgator They asked me to contact Wordpress support..What should I do?
In my opinion you should contact hostgator live support. And change the file permission to 777, this might work. And if nothing works and you have on posts then reinstall everything.
Don't change the file permissions to 777. In fact... hang on. Are you uploading a .zip archive of the Theme? If so, unpack it then upload it to the Theme directory.
I think Dan is right. Your are trying to upload a .zip archive of the Theme, do you? That doesn't work.
hey..I've figured out the problem. I was uploading .rar files. When I started uploading .zip files the problem was solved. and yes .zip file do work. the problem is with .rar files.
