Problem with H2 in HTML

    I've been trying to add a h2 tag to this website I'm doing SEO for. I successfully added the h1. But every time I try to put the h2 in it screws up the format. Does anybody know what might be going on here. I'm not a coder so any help would be useful. The x's are where actual words were.

    <td valign="bottom" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><a href="about.html" title="XXXXXXXXXXXX">XXXXXXX</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="XXXXXXX.htm" title="XXXXXXXXX">XXXXX XXXXX</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="xxxxx.html" title="xxxxxxxx / xxxxxxx / xxxxxxx xxxxxxxx">xxxxxxx</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="xxxxxx.html" title="CxxxxxxHxxxxx">Axxxxxxx</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="http://www.xxxxxxx.com/blog/">BLOG</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="contact.html" title="Contact Us">CONTACT US</a></td>

    I can not see any h2 tag in your code, but the code is awful, out of date (go for tableless design with css) and "not my style".

    All those

    Learn CSS and you will have a lot of more fun!

    To style e.g. a general h2 tag use this in a CSS file or inline CSS

    h2 {
    font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;
    font-size: 20px; /* font is 20px in height */
    color: #000; /* color is black */
    }

    Code (markup):
    Endless possiblities with CSS ...

    Thanks, I'll have to learn CSS until then I'll have the web designer take care of it.

    Avoind table coding unless it needs to be added in the code and also use external styles with class and id's.
