Problem with FTP

I'm trying out a new FTP program and getting boxes and garbly gook in text files instead of what should be there. Any advice? By the way, it's XP to Linux.

    Thanks.

Your FTP program may be trying to send text files in binary format. There should be a setting to either switch it to ascii mode when transferring text files OR an "auto" mode which detects the type of file(s) you are transferring and determines whether it should send in ascii or binary mode automatically.

Cool, I'll check it out. Filezilla is working good, no problems, just wanted to test something new. I'll check out the Firefox thing.

Dynashox, sorry to bump this, but do you do link exchange on your tech site?

If you have any issues in filezilla means you will use ACE ftp Or Winscp both are best

If you want root I would recommend WinSCP but if its just normal FTP , Either Windows FTP or Smart FTP. Been Using For A Few Years And Never Had A Problem.
