I have problem with Joomla SEO friendly links. Once I enable it my site disappears. I have seo plug ins as well nothing works .. Please help any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I Google it and they tell you to rename to .htaccess I already have .htaccess.. I got plugins for joomla that suppost to do that for you and when I use this plugins they create another page but just plane links no template nothing..
I believe the plugins are causing a problem for you here. Try disabling them if possible and then enable 'Seo Friendly URLs', should work.

Using SEO function in Joomla, your hosting OS must be UNIX or LINUX: 1st: Change htaccess.txt to .htaccess 2nd: Go to Configuration -> .... Disable any third party SEO plugins.. Good luck.
guys, i'm little bit confused here (newbie in joomla) i've the same problem with leonid5000, but without any other seo plug ins installed. After i enabled SEO Friendly URL my site turned into a mess except for the Home. what should i do? Change htaccess.txt to htaccess.htaccess? or just .htaccess? That's all should i do? I really appreciate if someone could help me...
