Problem With eBay Partner Network

Discussion in 'eBay' started by sport302, Aug 9, 2008.

    Ugh!

So I have been involved with the EPN since it began. Now for some reason my login and password are not working?

I receive the generic: "The e-mail address or password is incorrect. Please try again."

However, I have used the same login and password for months with no problems.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I have tried to contact eBay no reply?

I have tried to reset my password, but it never sends me the link through email when I click on the "forgot password" link?

    Thanks,

    Sport

I've never had problems logging into EPN - and everything is OK today. Are you sure you're not doing something silly like trying to log into eBay with your EPN info, or using your eBay info to log into EPN? :p

I am positive I am using the same login I have been using forever.

Does anyone know of an actual phone number to call to get an actual human being for the EPN?

So I received this reply from eBay can someone explain what they are saying?

Are they saying they canceled my account or they are having issues on their end? I received no other email as they stated from the "eBay
    Partner Network Quality Team"?

Thank you for contacting us regarding your difficulties with logging in.

I am sorry to inform you that you are unable to login to your account on
the eBay Partner Network because your account has been expired. Please
refer to the expiration notice sent to your email account from the eBay
Partner Network Quality Team for more details.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Kind regards,

Same problem here. I just finally was starting to make a little bit of money with it too.

I have read in the BANS forum that there are quite a few people who've got this same problem, and apparently ebay has just decided to cancel some EPN accounts.

    fantastic isn't it.

I have tried resetting my password and ended up emailing them. Looks like I will end up with an "expired account" email soon.

    How sucky is this?

I don't have all my biz with ebay but any work I've done is now gone out the window. Lucky I have other things to work on but still....

I would expect better feedback from a major company service such as ebay. But I am sure its not all bad. Does anyone have any success stories regarding that system?

I've had this but they emailed me telling me in 7 days they will close my account, mine was due to low quality of traffic vs sales nothing major I think they only want high converting earners :(

I still got paid even though it wasn't much so I imagine you'll still be paid, I'd move on or try pepperjam's ebay program, at least that way you'll get a AM you can talk to.

Thanks Dave for your post. I think mine might be for the same reason. Too bad as I was just getting going with it.

Anyway, hopefully payment will come through. I won't be holding my breath though.

PepperJam sounds good. Thanks for the advice.

Its quite a relief to read this thread - I received the exact same email - with no explanation - so have no idea what the actual :(problem is! Its very frustrating when you KNOW you are putting in the correct login, and only after you manage to find a way to send a message, to then get the 'standard' email. Its a pity an organisation as wealthy and large as this can't communicate with their customers - even if they don't actually want us!!

Lots of people were banned from EPN in the last few days for some reason, looks like you were one of them.

Well the exact same thing happened for me as well. After contacting ebay concerning my login difficulties they reply saying that my account has expired. This is an absolute lack of communication on eBay's part. If there were any quality issues with any of my sites then I would have thought a warning message would be sent.

EPN is by far the strictest affiliate program I've ever encountered. never have I known a network to randomly just ban a bunch of people for no good reason.

    Clifford is right.

As far as I like EPN, i do think you should not spend too much time messing with them if things don't work out.

there are plenty of other affiliate programs out there. the sky's the limit.

I had exactly the same problem and got the email from eBay that my account had been closed due to "non bona-fide" transactions. I have no idea what's going on.

Some of my sites used BuildaNicheStore (BANS) and I notice that the BANS site is down. BANS has had problems in the past with hackers and I noticed a few days ago that one of my BANS sites had been hacked. I'm wondering if it's possible that this is all related to BANS. Do you guys also use BANS?

I pressed the issue with them for an explanation and the bold reply below is what they sent. Best of luck to those who rely a lot on EPN for their money. I am about as "White Hat" as they come. The only thing I was using EPN for was listing used motorcycles on my motorcycle website listed in my signature. So I have no idea why they would say I was generating non-bona fide leads.

Thank you for contacting us regarding the termination of your account.

I would like to inform you that you are unable to login to your account
on the eBay Partner Network because your account has been expired. I
have included a copy of the original expiration notice below for your reference. Here is the attached letter from the Network Quality Team to you:

"After reviewing your account activity, we determined that your account
has been generating non-bona fide transactions. This violates our Code
of Conduct and breaches the agreement between us. Your account has been
terminated immediately and no pending commissions will be paid to you.
You are not permitted to rejoin the eBay Partner Network.

As stated in the Network Agreement, Section (E)(3):

    a. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, ePN shall have no
duty to pay you for what would otherwise be Qualifying Transactions
during any current or previous month when you were in breach of this
Agreement, the Code of Conduct or applicable Program Terms.

    b. ePN reserves the right to withhold your compensation for any and all

previous months and compensation that you are accruing if ePN, in its
sole discretion, reasonably believes that you or your Agent(s) have
breached this Agreement, the Code of Conduct or the applicable Program
    Terms.

    c. ePN may apply a debit to your account in an amount equal to a
payment previously made to you or a compensation that has been credited to your account, but has not been paid out yet, if ePN determines, in its sole
discretion, that there has been (i) duplicate entry or other clear
error; (ii) non-bona fide transactions; (iii) breach of, or other
failure to complete or reversal of the Qualifying Transaction; or (iv)
failure to comply with this Agreement, the applicable Program Terms or
the Code of Conduct. ePN may apply a chargeback to your account at any
    time, including previous payment cycles.

If you would like to dispute this action, please reply to and provide ample evidence of your
transactions. Please be sure to include a detailed description of the methods by which you were promoting eBay.

    Sincerely,

The eBay Partner Network Quality Team

What I do not get is eBay is basically a CPA affiliate so how can they accuse someone of sending non-bona fide leads? I my case it was simply the listing of motorcycles people either bid and buy them or they do not. Just makes no sense to me. Oh Well.

    Judge Jury Executioner.

You work for free, they do whatever they want to do to you and don't have to prove any of it.

This is the way corporations work.

If you are guilty then you deserve it, if you did nothing wrong then you are just getting scrw'd.

Either way the ultimate result is the same.

I guess you have 2 choice:
    1. apply to join EPN again with another email;
    2. promote other CPA program instead. I recommend Copeac and Clickbooth.
