I have tried to google this problem and tried different solutions to no avail. Im trying to add to columns to my website's (xxx.realmoneyslotsonline.com) front page, but I have noticed that the parent div's will not behave as they should. In the Latest Casino News box there is clearly a h2 title that takes up 28px of height, but the next div starts right beneath it for some reason and screws up the length of things. The same goes for the borders which ends up in weird places regardless of the content in the div's. Any help here? Have tried the overflow: hidden and clear: both, neither worked.
I'm not quite sure what you are asking - as what I'm seeing is for the most part what those elements should be doing -- BUT, there are a LOT of issues with that code. In particularly, the use of the same ID more than once on the page is invalid gibberish -- and well over half the ID's, classes and DIV belong on the cutting room floor for serving no legitimate purpose. I mean just take this one part: <div id="update-box"> <div id="news-box"> <h2 class="news-box-title">Latest Casino News</h2> <div id="box-holder"> <div id="news-post-box"> <div class="news-thumb"> <a href="http://www.realmoneyslotsonline.com/october-25000-freeroll-tournament-at-crazy-vegas-casino/" rel="bookmark"> <img src="http://www.realmoneyslotsonline.com/wp-content/themes/freshblog/includes/timthumb.php?src=http://www.realmoneyslotsonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/immortal-romance.jpg&h=75&w=75&zc=1" alt="October €25,000 Freeroll Slots Tournament at Crazy Vegas Casino" /> </a> </div> <div id="news-meta"> <h3 class="update-title"><a href="http://www.realmoneyslotsonline.com/october-25000-freeroll-tournament-at-crazy-vegas-casino/" rel="bookmark">October €25,000 Freeroll Slots Tournament at Crazy Vegas Casino</a></h3> <span class="by">Posted by <a href="http://www.realmoneyslotsonline.com/author/admin/" title="Posts by Adrian" rel="author">Adrian</a> on October 10, 2013</span> <div class="news-snippet"> The summer is definitely over and as we are entering the fall times all over, we have arrived at the month of October, the Halloween month. Crazy Vegas... </div> </div> </div> Code (markup): Double outer wrapper for *** knows what, ID's on the H2 and H3's for no good reason, absolute URI's for no good reason (a hallmark of turdpress stupidity), the REL for no reason, etc, etc... There is little if any reason for that to be much more than: <div id="news"> <h2>Latest Casino News</h2> <div class="newsItem"> <a href="/october-25000-freeroll-tournament-at-crazy-vegas-casino/"> <img src="/wp-content/themes/freshblog/includes/timthumb.php?src=/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/immortal-romance.jpg&h=75&w=75&zc=1" alt="October €25,000 Freeroll Slots Tournament at Crazy Vegas Casino" class="leadingPlate" /> </a> <div class="newsData"> <h3> <a href="/october-25000-freeroll-tournament-at-crazy-vegas-casino/">October €25,000 Freeroll Slots Tournament at Crazy Vegas Casino</a> <span>Posted by <a href="/author/admin/">Adrian</a> on October 10, 2013</span> </h3> <p> The summer is definitely over and as we are entering the fall times all over, we have arrived at the month of October, the Halloween month. Crazy Vegas... </p> <!-- .newsData --></div> <!-- .newsItem --></div> Code (markup): Cutting out all the pointless extra garbage and leveraging semantics properly would probably go a long ways towards making styling simpler.
Thanks for your answer deathshadow! Yeah, the code has gotten really ghetto now, cause I have tried everything to make it work, and I finally did. Since I didn't know where the problem was I just tried to box them all in (off course that is horrendous HTML practice). Will cut down the code.
