Hi, A client of mine has recently had a competitor build dodgy links to their site; by dodgy I mean links that Google doesn't like and as a result has lost some valuble rankings. Is there anyway to remove these links and to stop compeititors from doing this? Many thanks thanks in advance for any help. Best regards, Misch
Officially Google says such harmful link building activity will not effect your rankings... If they do, your only option would be to contact the site on which the links are posted and get them removed. What type of links are we talking about here? Links from porn sites or FFA?
There is an .info site with viagra and stuff amd also a site that has been reported by Google as a "site attack" page: Reported Attack Site! This web site at www.easywebcreator.com has been reported as an attack site and has been blocked based on your security preferences. Attack sites try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system. Some attack sites intentionally distribute harmful software, but many are compromised without the knowledge or permission of their owners. This concerns us. Thanks for your advice. Best regards,
Oh damn, they're trying to Googlebowl you? I'd probably ask for the links to be removed as well and possibly contact Google, though I doubt they'd do anything.
