Hello guys, please see here: http://www.floomp.com/trans/index.php When you try to translate one page, for example google.com from english to greek, it gives these characters , it is getting the results with file_get_contents from babelfish.yahoo.com Do you know how I may fix this problem?
I guess you use multi language and you do switch to use other language (not english lang), Then that word pass some script or sql query. This characters will occurs. This errors has occurs on my job too.
The current character set you are using doesn't support some characters. You need to change your charset to represent the characters you are trying to use.
Hi, Nice question ..... solution is in all languages there is a character set like a-z to A-Z to 0-9. but in some languages they are less or more .. that is why when google unable to find certain characters then it show it like this "" ... Thanks
Hi , if that is a charset problem then check this url http://72.14.235.104/translate_c?hl=en&sl=en&tl=de&u=http://www.myspace.com/&usg=ALkJrhhuciGjabv2qoVnlppu8k7zI0LzJQ you will find that google is using : <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> and if you check this url "http://www.floomp.com/trans/index.php" it is also having <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> same charset so why those characters. Thanks
I don't see the character in question on either of those sites . . . but again, it has nothing to do with Google. Google is just parsing the website and displaying it. Two sites can have the exact same character set, but if one site tries to use a character not included in that character set then you will get that little question mark icon. In short, the site with the question mark deal is trying to use a character that is not included in UTF-8. Read up on character sets
