Hey guys, I've been having a problem with getting backlinks to my new website but them not showing up in google. I have about 10 articles on ezinearticles, about 20 listings in various directories, and links from an assortment of blogs. But when I check my backlinks on google (by searching link:http://mywebsitenamehere.com), it only lists five. Any idea why this is happening or how to fix it?
You wait. check http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ they will show up here faster Also, check your google webmaster account for this domain (if you don't have one, make one) once a week. Google takes a while to crawl sites, and the link:site method has been broken forever (with no plans to fix).
Search the urls of your articles and directory listings to see if they have been indexed. I'd just submit these pages with your backlinks on them to digg and del.icio.us etc to get them crawled and indexed, then wait a few days to see what happens.
For the most part Google don't want to show those links as they try to stop ppl from reverse engineering Google's Algorithm. This is something I learn from other SEO forums Thanks Shelly77
Also, you may not get credit for all the backlinks because Google thinks some backlinks are not worth indexing.
Yep Google no longers spits backs all the backlinks they index just because you want to see them. Probably a lot of very valid reasons for doing this... and some less valid reasons. But it's their sandbox and you are only invited to play if you play by their rules. I can imagine it would put quite a load on their servers tens of thousands of people were continually running software to analyze backlinks and ranking.
i also similiar problem like yours .. my site have gone for 18days at google search engine.. i dont know why..
I made a brand new site and it took two weeks before all my articles on ezine showed up as backlinks. Slowly they each got indexed one at a time.
Some of these articles are really indexed though but it won't show when you check them. Google has their own reasons behind this but they are showing it to us for bragging right s or anything. they simply show a few but in reality you do have those backlinks indexed but keeping it out of sight will always keep us guessing. it will take sometime to show the ads. so just wait for the time. and dont stop promoting your website.
google does not add all the backlinks, but remeber that it take a while for them to show up as they need to be visited by the bots first and yahoo's site explorer with webmaster tools from google are the best to use
It's been awhile now and I think it takes about a week or so for a link on ezine articles to be fully indexed by Google. That is if you submit an article it will take a week or so after its published to get indexed. I noticed that for me it goes something like that time frame. It does vary though from time to time. One thing that I found interesting is the links in my sig on DP got indexed before my actual articles did. Google must Crawl Dp a lot then. How big is the authority on these links though? They seem to be some of the only ones that ever show up in Google.
