I activated an adword coupon I recieved from hostgator a while ago but when I created a google campaign it wouldn't let me pay with the credit I had from the coupon. It said your campaigns are not running because your funds are exhausted. So followed through to the payment page I had a credit of $44 CAD but they didn't let me use it. Is there any reason for this? I contacted adwords but they told me to contact hostgator because It's a third party coupon. I went to host gator and after a bunch of email exchanges they said they would contact the sales rep at google who sold them the coupons. They requested for my adwords id, and my email address in the first email. Than in the second they asked for my full name and the coupon code. I'm wondering should I provide the following information, call this paranoia but I keep worrying that it could be a phishing scam with so many of those nowadays. Thanks your input is greatly appreciated
I think you have to pay a minimum of $10.00 even though you used a coupon code. That's what I had to do. So if you were given $44 from the coupon, you'll still have to add another $10.00 on top of that to activate the account. This is on top of the actual $5.00 activation fee. I guess it is Adwords way of ensuring that they get money from you somehow.
