I have a site with a contact us form in php. The site sits on a linux server. I was just told that the client hasn't been receiving email from the form since Aug 20th. The site code hasn't been touched in months. Could this be a problem with the server and its SMTP settings? thx, J
There may be a good chance that the submitted form's emails are getting caught in a spam filter. You may need to first test to see if you receive the submission. If you don't get it and if it's not in the spam filter, you may need to adjust the code or perhaps write an inquiry to your host to see what's up...
if your sending to a hotmail address, good luck, you have this to deal with: http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/safety/technologies/senderid/default.mspx
A) No one is sending them email. B) Headers are not correct. C) His spam box catches the email (happens in hosts like ipowerweb). To figure out the problem, trying sending yourself the email and see if you get it. Peace,
You can also check whether your site administrator has implemented any email filter for outgoing mails.
There might be following problem. 1. You have not use the headers properly. 2. There might not be privilege sending email from your hosting server. 3. sometimes it also not work if there is not sending address in your headers. 4. your receiving server might blacklist your server due to complain again spam for your server.
