    Hi,

Hope this is placed in the right section of the forum. Apologies if its not.

I've got a website that I've added to my Google Webmasters account and they've asked me to verify it. I've created the HTML file that they suggested, and have uploaded it to my site, yet when I try visiting that page in my browser it can't find it, and when I click verify in Google Webmasters it again says that it can't be verified.

Anyone got any idea why its not working?

    Thanks for any help

I don't have an index page because its a wordpress blog that I'm trying to verify.

I've checked the file name and when I try opening the file in my browser it says that page cannot be found, yet it has been uploaded to that site so I don't know what the problem is...

    Anyone got any suggestions?

Where exactly are you putting the file. Try making a empty text file in root folder of domain and accessing it through browser. If thats successful, try uploading the verification file.

even if you are using wordpress you can make changes in header.php of layout section from your control panel.
