You can't use this bank account, try using a Bank Account of any other bank.

You are probably using a very standard bank account that does not offer digital transactions. PayPal prefers accounts that carry Chipped Debit cards, if your account has one of these then there should be no reason why it will not work. I used to have a very standard bank account with nationwide which used a non chipped cash only card and did not offer any features such as in-store purchasing, overdrafts or anything else like that. PayPal would not allow me to add this account, presumably because it required features that a current account offered rather than just a standard bank account. These accounts are now becoming rarer and rarer and most are now upgrading to allow digital transactions and adding chips to there cards. This may or may not be the reason why you cannot add your bank details but my first suggestion would be to look through PayPal's support pages and I'm sure you will find the answer. Other than that contact your bank, this is far easier than contacting PayPal and due to the huge ammount of PayPal accounts in use all major banks will be very familiar with there rules and regulations. I hope that this will assist you in some way, shape or form.

Just go to another bank and asked do they support internet payments, if so open an account, it will take less time than messing up with paypal and trying to verify your existing bank account with paypal.

Use another bank, it's not your fault.
