Problem setting up MySQL for WP blog at Godaddy

    Hi!

Only get a 404 when I have created a MySQL database and uploaded my wordpress files at my Godaddy shared hosting. The reason must be that I have defined the database wrong in the wp-config file.

I have tried every alternative I can think of, and the support at Godaddy can´t answer at all what their database is called.

    I need to know:
DB_NAME: Is this the name I have given the database in the godaddy control panel? It has to be.
    DB_USER: My godaddy user ID?
DB_PASSWORD: My godaddy user password or the one I created for the database?
DB_HOST: Is it localhost (as it is in 99% of the cases with WP), or mysql69.secureserver.net that is listed in MySQL database info panel.

It would be great if someone could answer this for me, I´m totally lost and have tried every combination. I hope you understand the question... thanks in advance!

I have problems with Godaddy.com hosting of my WP blog, so I switched to another hosting company which can auto-install the WP for you!

DB_HOST with godaddy are not "localhost" but "mysqlxx.secureserver.net"

    Thanks,

but i cannot get it to work. I have seen that others have had problems with WP and the el cheapo goddady plan.

    I also found: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/moreunjustworld/4others/setup_help.gif

So, I am obviously doing right here. Maybee time to change host...

this isnt godaddy id, when you create a database, you also create a user and add them to the database (not sure if godaddy works the same?)

when you created the user for the database (above) you assign a password to it too, this is what should be here.

its strange how you get a 404 error cos that means the files does not exist, if it was a database problem the page would load but you would get a "could not connect to database" error.

I´ve deleted the WP intallation and uploaded it again 3 times. The only thing that is there except for WP is a folder for stats, as I bought that along with the hosting.

Could it be that the stats folder is causing problems for WP?
