It seems mechanical problem. GMBRDILOS is right, check cables if they are ok! the problem can be inside of monitor.

How do you know the problem is in the CPU? Also, that's wrong. The CPU has nothing to do with your display. Maybe your GPU is going bad.

Which goes to say that, do not trust a computer, a computer is an electro-mechanical instrument that is invented by males in America with nothing to chew on but gum candy and nothing to drink but Jolt Cola dn and nothing to eat but Dominos pizza. Wow thats 3 brand names.

If you say your monitor is alright, then the problem has to be with the display card on your motherboard.

Anyway, we all are just making guesses here and it would be better if you consulted your hardware vendor. On hand physical verification would be able to give you the best diagnosis.

    Regards,

Try to use your PC with another monitor and see how it goes. If the problem still happen, it must an issue with your graphic card.

First of all check if the monitor is cable is plugged firmly into the CPU, IF yes, then check if the vga card is firmly connected into the vga slot.. try to unplug and replug it.. if still not working there must be some problem with your vga driver.. reinstall the driver
