Problem in Dreamweaver 8

    Hi there,

I'm trying to change a picture on one of my websites.
It's a lightbox with a 100*100 image in the gallery and once you click on it it'll bring up a whole bigger image (Well you all know how a lightbox works)

Basically I took the original image 'lets call it cats.jpeg', I opened cats.jpeg up in fireworks and modified the image to how I wanted it to be and resaved it as cats.jpeg in the same folder in the same place on my machine, where all my files are kept for the site then I went into DW8 and 'put' that image to the server, now shouldn't that have changed how the image looks on my site? As it hasn't... When I check my modify tab for the server it says it's been modified to today at the time I re-put the image. but still no change

I've never had this isssue before.

    Cheers,

    Piro

Are you sure you have also tried cleaning cache/history files?

Try it in different browser or at some other computer?

Lets try uploading the image through FTP.

Then Im pretty sure you are not replacing the right file.....

Oh yes, try deleting your whole site from the server and upload again, may be its your server that is not updating the file even after being replaced.....!!

I've had issues with DWCS4 and 5 not uploading the file using the shortcut keys. I've never used DW for uploading images though so no idea if it even works. Try uploading via FTP. If it's uploading to the correct spot you should see a popup asking to overwrite the file.

I dont deal much with DreamWeaver much but a friend of mine does a blog on it and he would probably know the answer to this one if you are still having trouble with it. try thechriswallace.wordpress dot com and see if anything there will help you figure this one out.

Thanks for all of your answers guys, the problem was deeper than that, I had read about this issue online, I had to uninstall DW from my pc, then regedit and remove any/all DW files that were still there then re-install, works fine now.

Thanks for the thoughtful answer rswebs but I managed to fix the issue in the end, it was a deeper problem than that.
