hi i make several grand of a forum, but the CTR is very low 87,335 impressions to make 34$ now i launched new site (not a forum) now this site is getting i think to high a ctr thanks to some very careful placing (thanks DP!) 134 impressions at 17clicks @ $15.37 should i tell google i have a new site!? the stats fro the new site stand out alot! will google ban me?
Google knows what they are doing. If you are unsure about something, it is highly recommended to contact google. They do not ban accounts for contacting them .
i wouldnt bother - some pages on my site have 0.0000x% ctr where as some get xx% ctr. Google are not going to base fraud click controls on this as much as other factors that they have up their sleeves!
I make well into 4digits every month, the taught of fraud wouldnt cross my mind, thats just too much money to part if i get booted of adsense I emailed below to google just in case Hi ive been a happy adsense publisher for the last year but allmost all my earnings came from one site alone now im programming a similar site to http://rapidshare.de/ (the above site are google adsense premium publisher btw) to run on a linux cluster i wonder are sites like that ok (seem to be), do i have the go ahead to place adverts on a site like that? Thank You Code (markup):
I suppose it is prudent to email them just to be sure. For the sake of 10 mins writing an email theres nothing really to lose.
"They do not ban accounts for contacting them" Maybe not, but they don't always care what you have to say either. My buddy was running AdSense ads on his site when he noticed a sudden HUGE increase in clicks that were obviously fake. He contacted google about it as SOON as he noticed but they didn't seem to care and their reply told him he was now banned.
hopefully it doesnt come to the above, the new site is quite legitimate and im spending ALOT of money aquiring servers and time programming in java and php5 a "rapidshare.de" style file storage and transfer system im suprised by the high ctr tho, im not used to it, forums have a very low ctr compared to the new site
lol wwm...i got a red score too when i announced i touched the $20 mark. same guy probably. it was worth 1 point.
If you have a site thats doing well my advice is to NOT mention its name on any forums you go on (including this). You risk some jealous people click bombing you, i rekon thats what the red were for! Most seasoned webmasters never give out there high earning urls
its good that you emailed them because if its not ok with them then they let you know without disabling your account just like they did to me lol, o well now i got kanoodle .
Well adsense still better.... I tried kanoodle for 2 weeks from my site making $20 a day from adsense but only make $6 a day in kanoodle.
WWM, I have heard from several sources that forum's have a very low CTR in general. Now the fact that you have a niche topic, (I'm assuming) you can get comfortable with the fact that the CTR rate is higher in a niche than a forum. 7% (based on the the info in your first post) is not out of line in my experience. It is always safe to email google if you are concerned. I have read posts from people who average well over 20%-30% CTR on average or more (I don't get this CTR) But it just depends on the topic, the content on the site, and how specific the ads that display on the page. The CTR average will vary depending on the time of day, and the ctr PER PAGE can be from 100% (or more) to 0%. (I had 1 viewer click 4 ads in one view- this was at 12:30 AM, but of course the ctr averages for the site over the day) I regularly have a very high CTR on some pages, but some are at 0%, I suppose it depends on the topic, vs. the viewer and the time of day. So in summary, I'd say that it's good you emailed google, but don't worry. Develop more valueable content, be honest with SEO and you'll be on a white sand beach or on a golf course some day. Honesty pays!
