Problem From AOL AIM

I had subscribed to AOL's AIM phone line a year back. It comes with a 30 days money back guarantee and costs $10 per month. Within 15 days I mailed them to unsubscribe me from the service. I paid with my netsafe card which they didn't charge immediately, This card expires after a single use or in 24 hrs. So, I thought that I have mailed them and I won't be charged.

After 45 days of subscribing they terminated my services saying that your payment was not successful. I thought the story is over, i didn't bother. But after six months or so of subscribing. I received a letter from the bank that the transaction of $20 has successfully completed. I demanded the bank to revert the money. They assured to look into the matter but didn't. Now, AOL is still charging me every month. I have withdrawn all my money from the bank. The account is still open and has approx. $60 debited. The bank is threatening to recover payments from me. Pls. guide me how can I sue AOL for all this. Or aleast get my money back.

Sorry, for being lengthy. Pls. ask if anything left uncleared.

It's hard dealing with a lot of companies that do ACH withdrawls. The best thing is to put the money in the account to cover the overage and close it. That is the only way they'll get the message. The can't debit a closed account. Then call them and follow up in writing demanding your money back for something you never used. Hopefully you kept your paper work for unsubscribing.

Unsubscribing from AOL is a night mare. They mare it more difficult to unsubscribe then getting a physics degree.
