Problem Creating Google Sitemap On Wordpress Blog

    Hi there,

    I downloaded "Sitemap Generator 2.7.1" plugin and have activated it on my blog. However, when I go to my options and then the Sitemap link, and then click on 'Rebuild Sitemap', I get this error:

    Could not write into /home/manutdne/public_html/inrainbows/sitemap.xml

    Could not write into /home/manutdne/public_html/inrainbows/sitemap.xml.gz


    Would appreciate any help with this.

    Manually create these files (just empty files) and make them writable (CHMOD).

    ^ second that. Do this and you should have no problems on getting the plugin to work.

    Where would I upload them? Just in the main directory of that site?
    Also, to make them writable - do I just go to properties when in FTP and type in 666 under 'numerical value'

    Upload them in the root folder.
    As for the other question - yes.

    I'm getting the same problem, now with a different blog.

    I uploaded the sitemap plugin and activated it, and changed the 2 file names to 666 so that they are writable.

    When I click on Build Sitemap, I get the following error:

    Any ideas why this could be happening? :(
