pls i am trying to show recent topics on my home page.pls can you help me with the steps on how to show the recent topics.and where i would put the codes to show the topics.thanks
Refer to the following topic on the official SMF community, http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=333781.0 Although myself have absolutely no experience with SMF, that topic looks as good as it gets.
there should be an option in the admin panel to set the number of recent topics to be shown on the forums main page. look under Current Theme, there is an option: Number of recent posts to display on board index: set the value to what you want.
@Sawz.Thanks I just did dat but I want something more.I was seeing some codes about ssi.php to show recent posts.what is that for and i would like to modify the posts displayed, I would want to remove the posters name and the time of the post.do u know how i can do this.pls help @MhW's. thanks I av read it but it is not of much help cos I am not very experienced.i dont know where to place the codes.
